Preet Bharara
Bharara is the U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York. The top U.S. prosecutor in Manhattan, Bharara has used Mob-busting techniques like wiretaps and informants to take on Wall Street crime, making 66 insider-trading arrests that have produced 58 convictions and no courtroom losses. He has also taken on high-profile terrorism prosecutions, including the Times Square bomber. Born in India and educated at Harvard and Columbia, Bharara has supporters in both parties and is talked about for higher positions in Washington or the courts.
